Got Game Entertainment announced last week that they had picked up the North American rights to two adventures:
- Alida -- A Mac game due out at the start of 2004, with a PC version expected later in the year. As Got Game describes it:
The enveloping story of a missing musician unfolds on a deserted island theme park. A PC version of the game is expected later in 2004. Created by Australian developer Cos Russo, the game is set on Alida, a guitar-shaped island theme park created by a young and wildly successful band. But when money woes and paranoia set in, the band splits up, each claiming different areas of the park, and where each devise strange and elaborate systems to protect their respective remaining wealth. Each member grows increasingly isolated and all eventually abandon Alida. Several years later the band’s manager suggests the band get together on the island. Soon thereafter band member Arin leaves for Alida and is not heard from again. Now, his wife, Julia, sends you to Alida to find Arin and bring him home.
- A Quiet Weekend in Capri -- A PC game due in the first quarter of 2004:
In what becomes anything but a quiet weekend in Capri, this magical island off the coast of Italy serves as backdrop to a captivating mystery.
As a tourist visiting the enchanting Isle of Capri for the first time, you are unexpectedly transported into a mysterious scenario, no longer of certain where you are or which way to turn. Regaining your senses, you begin to explore the island, encountering interesting characters and intriguing clues. You wander through magical gardens, seashores, churches, monuments, villas, and old Roman ruins. To unravel this mystery, you must utilize strange inventions by an eccentric island scientist, along with your own deductive reasoning.
Created by Italian developers Gey and Silvio Savarese, A Quiet Weekend in Capri also includes a separate full-length soundtrack CD, as well as a bonus travel feature on the beautiful island and its colorful residents. The Got Game release, currently being localized for the North American market, will be playable in English, Italian, and Italian with English subtitles. Further, other technical improvements to the game include doubling the save slots and increasing the jumping points from four to seven.
