The Adventure Company announced that its adventure MISSING, based on a hybrid of traditional PC and web-based gameplay, has gone gold and will be shipping in North America on June 24.
TAC describes the game in their press release as follows:
While Jack Lorski and his companion are investigating a series of serial killings, they disappear without a trace. Soon after, SKL Network, the agency Jack works for, receives a disturbing CD-ROM containing video footage captured during his investigation. More than just a CD, this disc is in-fact the beginning of a terrifying game with a mad killer known only as "The Phoenix."MISSING features an innovative blend of Windows and Internet gameplay, fully immersing players in this frightening game of cat-and-mouse. Players will receive email from virtual characters and The Phoenix himself, offering important clues. Players will also search a mixture of 300 real websites, and fictitious sites created solely for the game, to obtain valuable information vital to solving the case.
Released under the name In Memoriam in Europe, the game has already received critical acclaim. MISSING is rated "M" for Mature and is developed by ground-breaking developer, Lexis Numérique.
