The Universal Hint System gives you just the hints you need to solve hundreds of computer games. Unlike traditional walkthroughs, the UHS lets you select specific questions and view only as much information as you want – from subtle nudges to full answers – so you can have more fun by solving the game on your own. Virtually all UHS hint files were custom-written for the UHS format and are comprehensive guides to their respective games from start to finish.
Jason Strautman (jstrautman@uhs-hints.com) created the first UHS format in 1988. The UHS is now on its fifth format revision, and this reader supports all of the existing UHS formats (UHS 88a, 91a, 95a, 96a, and 2002a). The most recent file format includes some multi-language support (provided individual hint files have been translated) and improved support for web or mail links.
Thanks go to Robert Norton (rjn@execpc.com) for his help in developing newer UHS formats and in writing UHS readers and hint files, and to the many other authors of the UHS hints.
