The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Which birthsign should I choose?
1 of 5: As with race and class, look over the birthsigns and their special powers carefully to determine which one goes best with the type of character you're creating.
2 of 5: My favorite is "The Lady" since it adds a permanent +25 to Personality and Endurance.
3 of 5: However, if you have ambitions of ever getting a 100% Spell Absorption or Sanctuary, you'll need to make another choice.
4 of 5: A 100-point Spell Absorption makes you totally immune to damage by magic spells, plus it recharges your magicka points a little bit every time a spell hits you. To have any chance of getting it to 100 points, you'll have to choose the Atronach as your birthsign. That'll give you a big 50 points to start off with.
5 of 5: A 100-point Sanctuary effect makes you almost totally unhittable by non-magical attacks (especially from the weaker creatures), and is particularly recommended for stealth specialists. Choose the birthsign of the Thief to start off with a 10-point constant Sanctuary. There are no pre-made constant effect Sanctuary items, but it's a much cheaper effect than Spell Absorption to put on an enchanted item. For instance, a Daedric tower shield could have a constant 45-point Sanctuary put on it (or a range of 1 to 89 points).
