The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Magic Spells
1 of 3: The Mark and Restore spells work kind of like Lloyd's Beacon in the Might and Magic games. You cast Mark to set a beacon at your current location, and then cast Restore from elsewhere to teleport to where you set the beacon. However, you don't get a beacon list; each casting of Mark overwrites the last beacon with the new one. You can get these spells early in the game by traveling to the Mages Guild in Vivec and buying them from Sirilonwe.
2 of 3: I found that the most useful location to set and leave a Mark is in Vivec's Foreign Quarter, right outside one of the doors to the Foreign Quarter Plaza. From there, you can enter the plaza and use the Mages Guild teleporter or make a short trip north to use the boat and silt strider that are just north of the Foreign Quarter. You can also cast Divine Intervention to get to Ebonheart and Almsivi Intervention to get to the local Temple area.
3 of 3: The spell Divine Intervention will teleport you to the nearest Imperial Cult shrine, and Almsivi Intervention will teleport you to the nearest Temple shrine. If you're not sure where the nearest shrine is to your location, save your game before casting in case you end up somewhere you don't want to be.
