Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Hints
General File Info -- Read first!
This file is divided into regions -- "Johto" and "Kanto". Within each region, the file is divided further into towns -- for example, "New Bark Town" under "Johto".
If you have read the hint file for Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, you'll find that this file is pretty similar in the way it's built.
Red/Blue/Yellow is abbreviated as RBY. Gold/Silver/Crystal is abbreviated as GSC. PS and PS2 are in this file abbreviations for Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2 (respectively), NOT PlayStation and PlayStation 2.
If you can't find what you're looking for, write me at mickeym@go.to. Please use Danish or English. Also, if you are playing a German or French version of the game, please give me the Pokemon number instead of the name, unless they have the same name in both your language and English (such as Pikachu). If you're playing the Japanese version, you can use the Japanese names. Note that I do not speak Japanese, so this only goes for the Pokemon names.
If you're sending me an e-mail, include a subject relevant to your question. This is most important if you are using a free e-mail service like Hotmail or Yahoo. If no subject is present, your mail is at the risk of being mistaken for spam (I get a lot of spam), and may therefore be deleted before it is read.
If someone has a complete list of the Pokemon names translated from French and/or German to English (or the other way around), please let me know, as this will let me help people who use Pokemon names in French/German.
When I give advice on which Pokemon-attacks to use, I know that you may not be able to have some of those attack-types at that point in the game. However, there's always the opportunity to trade.
When talking about a Pokemon, I will use "he", although the Pokemon may be a "she". If the female Pokemon is required, I'll mention it.
When a Pokemon is marked with ***, it means it is a shining Pokemon. Shining Pokemon are stronger and/or have different attacks on capture than normal Pokemon. They may also have different colors.
