Solution

  • 1 of 6: Remember that any row or column (or whatever else you want to call spaces in the same line as another) that has a piece of one color is off limits to a piece of another color.  So for the most part, you'll want to minimize the number of spaces controlled by a single color.
  • 2 of 6: Usually, you should aim on keeping the two pieces of the same color in the same line as each other.  That way, they don't control quite as much of the board.
  • 3 of 6: The above isn't a hard and fast rule however.  In fact, if you apply it constantly to both colors, you won't be able to solve the puzzle.  But it's a good rule of thumb -- and you should at least keep pieces of one color in line.
  • 4 of 6: The solution to the puzzle follows.
  • 5 of 6: Number the spaces on the board as:

       1  2
    3  4  5
       6  7
    8  9  10

    And move 3 to 6, 10 to 1, 5 to 7, 6 to 2, 1 to 3, 7 to 9, 2 to 4, 4 to 10, and 9 to 5.
  • 6 of 6: Then move 8 to 4, 3 to 9, 4 to 1, 9 to 6, 5 to 2, 1 to 7, 6 to 3, 2 to 8, and 7 to 5.
