AGON Hints
Tablut
1 of 7: A good opening move is to move your topmost piece two squares to the right. After that, Vainio's moves vary, so you'll have to decide on your own moves.
2 of 7: Remember that you have only 8 pieces in addition to the king, while Vainio has 16 pieces. So it's usually a bad idea to let yourself get drawn into an exchange of pieces -- unless you have some goal in mind.
3 of 7: In the beginning stages, you may want to position pieces next to each other to prevent Vainio from capturing your pieces.
4 of 7: Also watch out that you never let Vainio get too many of his pieces next to your king.
5 of 7: A good strategy is to concentrate on attacking one side of the board, and use your pieces to clear a path for your king to a corner. After the first few moves, look to see whether Vainio has left a particular weakness on any side.
6 of 7: You should also use some of your pieces to block Vainio from being able to move his pieces to block your path.
7 of 7: If you still can't seem to make any progress in learning how to win the game, you can always set the difficulty level to easy.
