The Secrets of Alamut Hints
The Challenge of the Sisters lava river has me stumped!
1 of 12: Read the inscriptions on the stone slab. There are two -- one for the left side and a different one for the right side.
2 of 12: It helps to know what "zenith" and "nadir" mean.
3 of 12: The inscriptions tell you which stones can and cannot be stepped on -- at least for the 5 and 6 "sisters" that are described -- and about how long you can stay on a square. Since there are 11 on each side, this leaves a lot not covered at all.
4 of 12: I would strongly suggest you save your game before taking either path. This puzzle will take quite a bit of trial and error. Not until you know where the "sisters" "live" will you really understand the clues.
5 of 12: Don't hover too long on any one stone. When you hear a clock ticking, you'd better make your decision and jump off fast.
6 of 12: To understand my hints below, number the stones from 1 to 11 on the left and right rows beginning at the start position. Read ahead for the solution, broken up into small steps.
7 of 12: Jump to the left side first square (no. 1).
8 of 12: Your next three jumps need to be quick because they are "not so patient."
9 of 12: Jump across the lava to the first block (right side no. 1). On the same side, skip one and jump to the 3rd stone and quickly to the 4th. You are safe there on the 4th block. This is one of the ones you can "woo."
10 of 12: The following 3 spots need to be done fast too. Skip block no. 5 on the right side and hop to block 6 and onto block 7. Don't hesitate there. Jump to block 9 on the same side.
11 of 12: It's time to jump across the lava again. Go directly across to block 9 on the other side.
12 of 12: On the same side, skip one and jump to the end, no. 11, block. Whew! Refer to my graphical version of this puzzle below if you're still having trouble.
