2 of 4: The molasses will slow down the pirate.
3 of 4: Use the molasses in the doorway near the stairs, and when the pirate steps on it, he'll become stuck and eventually die.
4 of 4: If you've already used the molasses, use the ice instead. The principle is basically the same.
