Alone in the Dark 4: The New Nightmare Hints
How do I operate the lightning conductor?
1 of 7: Climb up the ladder in the workshop -- there are total of three levels above the main level of the workshop.
2 of 7: One level above the workshop is the switch that raises the conductor up into the air.
3 of 7: But as you'll notice, there's a trap door covering the conductor.
4 of 7: Go up to the second level above the workshop and pull the lever in here to open the trap door.
5 of 7: If it won't open, that's because the trap door is locked.
6 of 7: After you've unlocked that door, climb back down one level, make sure you've opened the trap door, and then go down one more level to pull the switch to start up the conductor.
7 of 7: The conductor will only stay up for about 2 minutes and then lowers itself automatically. But you can always restart the process by pulling the lever on the first floor above the workshop again. (The trap door stays open, so you don't need to go back to the floor above this one.)
