How do I reach the shutoff valve at the processing plant?

  • 1 of 15: First, if you're still in the town, head back out through the fence and down the path to its end.  That will take you to the processing plant map.
  • 2 of 15: The manual shutoff valve is in pool 3.  You obviously need to find a way in there first.
  • 3 of 15: You should find a console not too far into the plant.  The entrances to the three pools are near this console -- as you're facing the console, #1 is to your left, #2 is straight ahead, and #3 is to the right.  Just click on any of the holes to enter the appropriate pool.
  • 4 of 15: Go down to pool #3 and see what's there.
  • 5 of 15: Hmm ... there's no shutoff valve in sight, and the pool still seems to be flooded with radioactive goo.
  • 6 of 15: Fortunately, there's a wheel above the goo that lets you transfer the waste into another pool.
  • 7 of 15: Pool #2 is already full, so pick the 3 -> 1 option on the wheel to put the waste in pool
  • 8 of 15: Now the pool is drained, and you can see the shutoff valve at the bottom. But it also so happens that stairs down there are broken.
  • 9 of 15: Notice the door at the bottom?
  • 10 of 15: That seems to let you travel directly between pools #2 and
  • 11 of 15: So why don't you go to pool #2?
  • 12 of 15: Go back up the way you came, and then enter pool #2 through the vent.  And don't forget that you need to power up the fan to get rid of the radiation in there.
  • 13 of 15: Once you're in pool #2, you also need to get rid of the goo to get to the bottom.
  • 14 of 15: Pool #1 is large enough to handle this waste as well, so look for the control wheel and pick 2 -> 1.
  • 15 of 15: Fortunately, you can get to the bottom of pool Once you're there, click on the panel next to the door to pool #3 to open that door, then go through. You should now be able to reach the shutoff wheel.  Just turn it to the right to finish this quest.
