Why do characters have different MysAffinities with different MysTech?

  • 1 of 5: I suppose the simple answer is, that's because the way the designers chose to do things.
  • 2 of 5: But to answer the real question, each character has a preferred type of MysTech.  For example, Boots does best with freeze MysTech.  Each character's affinity is the same for all devices of the same type, although different devices may have different MysPowers.
  • 3 of 5: Trial and error will tell you what these affinities are.  They will make more sense once you've gotten access to the Elementor.
  • 4 of 5: Notice that characters are placed in the game's party menu in a shape similar to the slots on the Elementor.
  • 5 of 5: Characters have the greatest MysAffinity with devices of the same color as their place on the "Elementor" -- for example, Boots is in the upper-left slot, which is cyan, and cyan beetles produce the freeze effect.  This means Boots does best with freeze MysTech.  He'll also do fairly well with the adjacent slots of blue/slow and green/poison.
