Ankh Hints

Get Thara past the guard.

  • 1 of 17: This becomes your next task right after you complete "Find a way out of the palace bakery".
  • 2 of 17: First off, notice the icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • 3 of 17: Explore around to see where all you can go.
  • 4 of 17: In the starting room is the backdoor you entered the chapter through (and can't open now), a doorway that leads to the lower part of the bakery and water wheel area, and another doorway that leads to a long corridor with unopenable garden doors and an entrance to the tower. The tower connects to the bridge with the guard that you need to get Thara past.
  • 5 of 17: To start with, figure out how to get into the garden so you can explore it.
  • 6 of 17: Once Assil's in the garden, move him to the back end of it.
  • 7 of 17: You can't see it, but the bridge with the guard on it that Thara needs to get past is nearby. (That's the guard you can hear talking to himself.)
  • 8 of 17: Looking around on the side of the garden opposite to the side with its unopenable main doors, you'll find some stairs leading to a corridor from which you can enter the other tower that the guard's bridge connects to.
  • 9 of 17: That corridor also leads to the door to the temple of Osiris, which is your ultimate goal for this whole palace excursion.
  • 10 of 17: Now do you see why Thara needs to get past the guard? Assil found a way to bypass the guard's bridge to get to Osiris' temple door, but Thara can't go that way (since she isn't heavy enough to cross using the slim palm), and therefore needs to cross the guard's bridge to get to the temple door.
  • 11 of 17: So you need to coordinate Thara and Assil in distracting the guard long enough for Thara to cross the bridge between towers unseen.
  • 12 of 17: For a clue on how to distract the guard, have a character stand to where he/she can hear the guard talking. You can do this in the first accessible tower or in the garden near the guard's bridge.
  • 13 of 17: He's moaning about the mess in the garden (or so it seems), and keeps worrying what the Pharaoh will say about it.
  • 14 of 17: Maybe if he thought he heard the Pharaoh say something, he'd run off or follow the voice or something.
  • 15 of 17: You can't imitate the Pharaoh's voice, but there is a device around here that's made to do just that.
  • 16 of 17: Floating in the water between the water wheel area and the garden is a "Captain Pharaoh" talking doll. You need to get it to distract the guard with.
  • 17 of 17: After Thara successfully crosses the bridge, she and Assil will be reunited in the corridor that leads to the temple door.
