Ankh Hints
General Tips
1 of 6: The game is organized around Assil's to-do list (accessed via the TAB key), and so are these hints. Each chapter's hints are divided up into tasks, and the first hint for each task tells how and when you get it added to your to-do list.
2 of 6: Every hintable situation, both big and small, is covered in some task's hints. If you need hints on some particular thing and aren't sure what task it's a part of, put it off until you encounter it again while specifically working on a task. Chances are you'll already have that task on your to-do list, anyway.
3 of 6: As in most graphical adventure games, you need to carefully explore every area and examine every interactive item you can find, talk to everyone you can, etc. You'll get stuck much less often on your tasks if you do all that very thoroughly.
4 of 6: It's easy to miss in the manual, so I'll repeat it here: you can double-click on a spot, object, or person to get Assil to run there instead of walking. That will be a big timesaver throughout the game.
5 of 6: One thing that might seem a bit odd at first is that you *always* right-click to do anything other than walking/running to a certain spot or examining something. You have to right-click on objects to pick them up or use them, and on people to talk to them.
6 of 6: Also, if you're using an inventory item on a person or other item, you right-click to pick up the inventory item, and then right-click it on what you want to use it on. Most games in my experience would use a left-click when applying an item, but not this one. It can be a bit confusing until you get used to it.
