Fight with Diego
1 of 3: Get out your best melee weapon and start whacking Diego with it.
2 of 3: As with the molerats earlier, you should whack him a few times, then immediately do a backward roll to avoid his attacks. That's even more important with him (and with most enemies from now on) since he'll frequently try to hit you with a power attack. (See the Combat Tips for more about power attacks.)
3 of 3: Despite the fact that he's a lot tougher than a molerat, you should be able to easily knock his health down to where he surrenders.
