How do I free Bessie Toone's ghost?
1 of 14: This is a very long quest, spanning three cities.
2 of 14: To get the quest, talk to Percival Toone, who lives in the house just south of the mine entrance. He'll tell you of his problems and ask you to free his mother's ghost. He'll also let slip that his sister is living in Dernholm, and that he sold the mine to Stanton Importers, who are based in Tarant.
3 of 14: First, you'll want to visit Sarah Toone, who is living in Dernholm. (Ask a townsperson, if you don't know where Dernholm is.)
4 of 14: She'll give you some more details about the mine and her mother, whose ghost you're trying to free.
5 of 14: If you offer, you'll get a sub-sub quest of getting Sarah ownership of the mine (this is the good path of doing the quest).
6 of 14: Once you're done talking to Sarah, head to Tarant. (Most people will tell you where Tarant is on your map if you ask them.)
7 of 14: Once you arrive in Tarant, head over to Stanton Importers, the people who own the mine.
8 of 14: They're located a ways uptown, in the poorer district, just off of the big main bridge through the city.
9 of 14: Once you enter the building, you'll run into the owner, who has the deed to the mine.
10 of 14: If you have relatively good Persuasion, you can convince him that you should give you the deed by telling him that you represent the industrial council, that there were some sketchy things about how the mine was purchased, and then asking him if he'd be willing to back his statements up in court.
11 of 14: If you do it right, he'll give you the deed to the mine.
12 of 14: Of course, you can always just pick pocket him to get it, or you can attack him, but that's a little difficult -- he has some guards that are a little tough until you're at a slightly high level.
13 of 14: Either way, once you have the deed, you can either bring it back to Sarah for lots of XP and a nice sword (Filament Sword), or bring it back to Percival for some $$ and XP. Sarah's reward is better in my opinion.
14 of 14: If you gave it to Sarah, Bessie Toone's ghost will be freed, and everyone in town will like you more (except for Percival, of course).
