Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura Hints

The sheriff wants me to deal with the thieves plaguing the town.

  • 1 of 10: This is a quest with definite good and evil ways to go about it.
  • 2 of 10: The thieves he wants you to eliminate are along a road out of town to the northeast.
  • 3 of 10: You'll find that the thieves are blocking the exit from the town by barricading the bridge.
  • 4 of 10: They'll want you to pay 1000 gold to get past them. Obviously, that just isn't any good.
  • 5 of 10: There are three ways for you to get past them without paying.
  • 6 of 10: First, you can ask them if there's something you can do for them for them to let you pass.
  • 7 of 10: Another way to do it is to flat out attack them. The battle is pretty hard, since the ogres' attacks drain your stamina, and once it hits zero, you're down for the count.
  • 8 of 10: The third, and best, way to get rid of them is to persuade them to leave them.
  • 9 of 10: Thieves really should to use the talking method, since it gives them information about the thieves' underground.
  • 10 of 10: If you talk them out of it, you can attack them right after if you want, for some bonus XP and another fate point.
