The "Drag" Mechanism

  • Granny doesn't move in the usual fashion of computer games -- rather, she sometimes hobbles or lopes, but often "whizzes" from place to place.  Generally you have little or no control over her exact final destinations or her actions.

There is a "mechanism" rarely, if ever, seen in Adventure games.  Many objects can be dragged from one position to another, or otherwise manipulated.  In such cases, your "cursor-creature" clenches its fist, and if you keep your finger on the left mouse button and drag, you obtain a white line starting from the object.  You can stretch this line to any length and in any direction you wish, and then release the mouse button.  However, the object will generally only respond (by itself, in its own individual way, and to its unique destination) if you draw your line more or less in the correct direction and of a reasonably suitable length.
