There are so many locations to visit that it's difficult to know where to go next. Although the hints given are generally quite wacky, you can often get a clue if you operate the tape recorder diary ~every time~ you enter a new scene. Also, examining (right mouse click) every newly acquired bra-ventory item sometimes furnishes you with an indication of what to do with it.
