The Arrangement Hints

What is the solution to the cryptogram?

  • 1 of 8: This cryptogram is a letter-for-letter association -- a sort of code.  You'll probably need to work it out on paper.  Read below if you need a copy of the original text to print.Cryptogram Original Text.
  • 2 of 8: I have my own method when starting cryptograms, and it works 9 times out of 10.  Three letter words are usually the words THE, AND, BUT, ARE or YOU.
  • 3 of 8: Notice there are 4 identical 3-letter words in this sentence ... PDA.  And, it IS one of my choices.
  • 4 of 8: PDA stands for THE.  Knowing that, go through and assign those letters in all of the words:  T for the P, the letter H for the D and the letter E for the A.
  • 5 of 8: After you've done that, notice the very first word.  It starts with T and is a 2-letter word.
  • 6 of 8: Must be the word TO.  Now you can put the letter O for all of the Ks in the words.
  • 7 of 8: You'll probably be able to get the rest yourself now.  (The solution is in the next hint).
  • 8 of 8: TO OPEN THE SHED PRESS THE FIRST BUTTON, THE THIRD BUTTON, AND THE LAST BUTTON.
