Art of Murder 2: Hunt for the Puppeteer Hints

What should I do with these weird hooks with Roman numerals?

  • 1 of 18: This is the main puzzle you'll face while inside this room.
  • 2 of 18: You will see there are four hooks in the wall, with space for a fifth on the right.
  • 3 of 18: Each of the hooks can be rotated to the eight compass directions. North, North-East, East, South-East, South, etc.
  • 4 of 18: You're going to need to first find something to fill the vacant fifth hole.
  • 5 of 18: Next, you're going to need to turn each of the five to a certain compass direction, to open a secret compartment that is hidden here.
  • 6 of 18: There is a clue in the room somewhere that will tell you which way to turn them. You'll find the item you can use as the fifth hook there too.
  • 7 of 18: It's inside the desk in this room.
  • 8 of 18: To get to it, you'll need to find a way to pry out the fake top of the drawer to get to the compartment beneath.
  • 9 of 18: Once you've found the clue, the puzzle should be quite simple.
  • 10 of 18: First, put the allen key into the fifth hole.
  • 11 of 18: The order to turn the hooks is dictated by the paper, and the direction to turn them is dictated by their color, cross-referenced with the map on the desk.
  • 12 of 18: The paper says: 5 (in red), 2 (in blue), 3 (in green), 1 (in black), and 4 (in pink).
  • 13 of 18: So, the fifth hook (the one we just added with the allen key), needs to point to the red direction on the map. Which in this case is South-West.
  • 14 of 18: Now the second hook (from the left) needs to be turned to the blue direction, which is North-West.
  • 15 of 18: The third hook needs to face the green direction: South-East.
  • 16 of 18: The first hook needs to face the black bearing: West.
  • 17 of 18: And finally, the fourth hook from the left needs to be turned to face the direction that is colored pink on the map, which is North-East.
  • 18 of 18: Once all five hooks are pointing to the correct directions, the secret compartment will open.
