About These Hints

  • These hints are designed to provide you with all the information you need to successfully complete the game, but there are some topics that are not addressed -- such as things already covered in the game manual. If you need to know the effect of your character's attributes, or how to enchant weapons for instance, you'll find all of that stuff in your manual.

    You are free to do as you like in Arx: robbing houses or killing innocent civilians will not ruin your chances of completing the game. However, these hints assume that you are playing peacefully. If you choose to stray from the peaceful path, you may miss out on some important clues. The Main Quests section can point you in the right direction. Additionally, some quests cannot be completed in the usual manner after killing NPCs; in most of these cases, items found on the bodies of the NPCs can help you proceed in the game.

    For some extra notes and tips, consult the "Miscellaneous Notes" sections for each area. It's probably better to refer to these sections after completing an area, as some of the hints contain minor spoilers.
