How can I do it without the risk of getting caught?
1 of 19: To get inside the bank vault, you first need to get into Gary's house. The door to his house is near the top of the stairs leading north from the bank.
2 of 19: If Gary is home, then his house will be unlocked. He is usually there immediately following the council meeting in the castle. Otherwise, you'll need to pick the lock on his door (this requires a Technical Skill of about 90).
3 of 19: Inside the basement of Gary's house, you'll find a ladder behind a locked gate. The gate cannot be opened from this side.
4 of 19: By looking closely at your map, you might be able to figure out which house the ladder leads to.
5 of 19: Have you met Gary's fiance, Alicia? The ladder leads into her house, which is the first one on your right after reaching the top of the stairs from Gary's.
6 of 19: Search behind the shelf in Alicia's house for a lever. Pulling this lever will open the gate in Gary's basement, but only for a short time.
7 of 19: After pulling the lever, run from Alicia's house to Gary's and through the gate. At the top of the ladder, you'll see a key sealed into the wall above a lever. You can't remove the key from the wall, but maybe you could make an imprint of it.
8 of 19: Try asking one of your friends for some advice.
9 of 19: Speak with Grue in the Goblin Prison, and he will give you a piece of mud putty. Return to Alicia's and use the putty on the key to form a mold.
10 of 19: Now you just have to figure out how to duplicate the key using your mold.
11 of 19: You'll need some metal and access to a forge to do this. Both of these can be found on Level 8.
12 of 19: Grab a pickaxe, then travel to the dwarven mines on Level 8 and find two chunks of metal.
13 of 19: The metal needs to be melted before you can use it. Consult your trusty Forge Instruction Manual, which you can loot from a dwarf corpse outside of the smelting room.
14 of 19: Place the chunks of metal in the oven, turn the machine on with a Stone of Power, and then pull the lever to produce a metal bar. Now you're ready to forge the key.
15 of 19: Place the key mold on the left-hand side of the forge and the metal bar in the oven at the top of the machine. Then pull the lever to make the key.
16 of 19: Now all of your hard work is about to pay off. Return to the bank and use the Reveal spell to locate the secret passage in the left-hand wall. This passage leads inside the bank vault.
17 of 19: Sometimes the bank guard forgets to lock the door to the passage, in which case you simply need to click on it to get inside. (Try using the Invisibility spell to avoid being detected). Otherwise, you need to open the door yourself.
18 of 19: The passage can be opened by pushing a button inside the bank office next door. To open the door to the office requires a high Technical Skill, or a key which can be pickpocketed from Gary.
19 of 19: Once inside the passage, use the bank key to unlock the vault, and pillage to your heart's content.
