Arx Fatalis Hints
Shany has gone missing. Where can I find her?
1 of 9: Shany's mother, Maria, tells you that Shany was playing in the square between her shop and the jeweler's before she disappeared. Try searching this area for clues.
2 of 9: If you knock on the door of the house in the corner of the square, an angry voice threatens to call the guards. Whoever is inside that house must have something to hide.
3 of 9: Enter the house next door. You'll hear the inhabitants of the first house quickly leaving.
4 of 9: Search the chest in this house for a note.
5 of 9: The note appears to be a letter to one of the disciples of Akbaa, with directions to meet at the serpent pillar on the fourth level for a sacrifice. You'll have to hurry to this pillar if you are to rescue Shany in time.
6 of 9: You can find the pillar on level 4. Enter level 4 by crossing the bridge in the goblin city and descending the stairs. Turn right at the bottom of the stairs, then turn left immediately. As the passage slopes downward, take the left fork, then the right. Continue bearing to the right until you arrive at the serpent pillar.
7 of 9: Circling around the pillar, you'll observe a group of acolytes emerging from the passage ahead. Follow them to see where they are going.
8 of 9: You'll have to be careful, or the acolytes will realize they are being followed. Stay a fair distance behind them, and make sure you are in stealth mode. An Invisibility potion or spell may be useful here.
9 of 9: The acolytes will lead you to their secret altar. Enter this room and confront the cultists, but be quick, or Shany will be sacrificed. After you've defeated the cultists, free Shany, then return to Maria's shop to ensure that Shany made it home safely.
