Arx Fatalis Hints
Why does nothing happen when I place the golden snake in the urn?
of 8: It may be that you are trying to "use" the snake on the urn rather than placing it there. Drag the snake from your inventory so that it rests in the urn.
of 8: If that doesn't work, consult the signs on the wall.
of 8: The snake you have is not the "genuine article" referred to on the signs. You'll find another snake idol in the temple.
of 8: Have you tried peeking behind the curtains on the walls in the Hall of Valiants?
of 8: Behind one of the curtains, you will find a lever. Pulling this lever will reveal a secret passage behind another of the curtains.
of 8: In the room beyond the secret passage, you'll see a locked chest and a note reading, "The weakness of the wealthy snake lies where its sword crosses its scepter." Do you recall seeing a wealthy snake somewhere in the temple?
of 8: Return to the lever room and shoot an arrow at the place where the snake's scepter and sword meet. You can use a fireball spell if you forgot to bring a bow along.
of 8: Returning to the chest, you'll find it unlocked. Open it and remove the snake idol, then place the idol in the urn. Zohark is now yours.
