Arx Fatalis Hints
Food
1 of 4: You'll encounter many animals in Arx, which you will be forced to kill. These animals, including rats, pigs, chickens, and even dogs, are the most plentiful supply of food in the game. This is also the most tedious way to deal with hunger, as you will need to locate a fire and cook the meat before you can eat it.
2 of 4: You can also find food in various kitchens and store rooms in Arx. Search the Castle kitchens and those in the Goblin City. You can also raid the pantries of the residents' houses, but some will not take kindly to such behavior. Food can also be purchased in some shops, most notably in Maria's shop in the City of Arx.
3 of 4: You can find a nearly inexhaustible supply of fresh food in the waters of Arx. All you need is a fishing rod. Make a fishing rod out of a pole and a rope, then use it (with the "use" key, not by double-clicking) while standing by the water.
4 of 4: When your stomach is growling and you have nothing to put in it, you'll need to rely on the Create Food spell to sate your hunger. As the game progresses, you'll appreciate this spell more, as it frees up space in your inventory otherwise cluttered with foodstuffs. Still, make sure you carry at least some food with you at all times, as there are areas in the game where magic will not work.
