How can I possibly kill these Ylsides?
1 of 6: The first time you encounter an Ylside warrior, you're likely to jump out of your seat in surprise. These guys are quick and efficient killers. However, they do have weaknesses which you can exploit.
2 of 6: The most striking thing about the Ylsides is the speed with which they move and attack, often appearing as little more than a blur. Did you realize that you can move just as fast as they do? Try casting the Speed spell to increase your speed to match theirs and even things up a bit.
3 of 6: It can be awkward to maneuver and attack when under the influence of the Speed spell. A better tactic may be to cast the secret spell Slow on the Ylsides to reduce their velocity to a more normal level.
4 of 6: Even after you've managed to slow them down, Ylsides remain fierce fighters. They are one of a handful of enemies in the game which are very difficult to take out using weapons alone. A Fireball or two, on the other hand, can be very effective in dealing with them.
5 of 6: Use stealth to your advantage. Ylsides will move at normal speed until the moment they sense your presence and attack. By remaining hidden in the shadows, or sneaking up on them from behind, you can put the element of surprise on your side. The Invisibility spell will grant you even greater stealth, possibly even allowing you to sneak past them undetected.
6 of 6: If you are confronting the Ylside invaders in the City of Arx and the Castle, you may find it simpler to avoid fighting them altogether. If you've activated the portal in the Castle, simply teleport there without passing through the city. Once inside the Castle, make use of the secret passages to skirt most of the Ylsides and take a shortcut to the prison. You'll be able to spot the hidden passages using the Reveal spell.
