How can I defeat the black beast?

  • 1 of 10: Don't bother trying to kill the beast. It is immune to all of your attacks.
  • 2 of 10: Your only choice when the beast attacks is to run. You will end up at a pool of lava, which you must cross by jumping the platforms.
  • 3 of 10: The beast will chase you to the smelting room. Be sure to inspect the dead dwarf here and remove all of the items on its corpse. Climbing the ladder in the smelting room will put you out of the beast's reach and allow you some time to think.
  • 4 of 10: You'll notice a small lava pool beneath a grate near the entrance to this room. Your goal is to remove the grate and cause the beast to fall into the lava. This is the only way to defeat it.
  • 5 of 10: To do this, you'll need to take advantage of the machinery in this area.
  • 6 of 10: The lever which will open the grate is in the next room. Unless you're very quick, you will not be able to reach this room before the beast devours you. You'll need to buy yourself some time.
  • 7 of 10: Notice the heavy masher in this room. If you could lure the beast underneath it, you could at least render him helpless for a few moments.
  • 8 of 10: The masher requires a Stone of Power to turn it on. Use the stone you found on the corpse outside this room.
  • 9 of 10: To lure the beast to the right spot, throw the dwarf meat underneath the masher, then quickly pull the lever on the balcony to smash the beast. You should now have enough time to run into the next room.
  • 10 of 10: In this room you'll find a lever and a key on the right-hand side of the stairs. Pull the lever, grab the key, then run back into the smelting room and pull the lever beside the furnace to open the grate in the floor. When the beast wakes up and begins to pursue you, jump over the lava pit. The beast will fall into the pit and be destroyed.
