Sabotage
If you sabotage often, you will more likely be caught and be fined, and your opponents will hate you. This means that they will stop co-operation with you and you will lose your contacts with their branches -- it is hard to gain their trust again. In the long run, you will lose out through fines or by them hating you. Trying to crash their planes never ever works for me and I always get fined (a lot of money). If you have managed to successfully crash a plane, please tell me as I would like to know what happened.
But on the other hand, if they sabotage you, sabotage them back mercilessly every day for ages for fun. But the only drawback is that you can only sabotage them once a day. As you are a better customer, you will get more services.
If you've got yourself really far behind, then you will have to sabotage them. Plane damage will lower the opponent's image and personal attacks will slow them down and lose them money. A well placed stink bomb or glue can do wonders too.
Stink bombs can be obtained from the newsagent (see the "Objects" section). Place them outside the ticket office where passengers buy tickets for your opponents. If you place it outside, then all the passengers will become unhappy and your opponent will lose reputation. Or if you really want, place it by the elevator so everyone becomes unhappy :)
Glue can be obtained from the freight center (again, see the "Objects" section). Place it upstairs somewhere, preferably outside one of their offices, and they will be stuck for ages. It makes them very unhappy and also slows them down :)
To stop your competitors from sabotaging you, buy them some non-alcoholic candy from the duty free and give it to them. This should stop them from attacking you for a couple of days.
