His job isn't exaclty as it describes. I'm not sure if he protects you from sabotages, but he does give you discounts. Every time you buy something, you will get a small discount as your manager is very persuasive. The discount you get is relative to his skill level.
Advice: Not essential but helpful in game progess. If you like to sabotage a lot, you can save a lot of money.
