Atlantis II (Beyond Atlantis) Hints

Basic Game Play Tips

  • 1) As you explore, you will meet other people who can be talked to.  These characters can sometimes move from place to place, can be given objects, or will give them to you. Talk to everyone about everything!  Exhaust all topics of conversation until they repeat themselves.  Be sure to return to each person more than once to see if you can discuss another topic of conversation.  Pay close attention to what they say each time. This is especially important when you get stuck, as this might be the only way to move on.  It helps to keep the subtitles turned on for this reason.

    2) Remember the order you play.  It will be important at the end of the game.

    3) Moving about in 3D can be disconcerting for some.  If it makes you dizzy, like it did me, I found a way to control it somewhat.  Click your mouse, but don't move it once you click.  Wait until you stop to move it around.

    4) If you are using Windows 95/98, disable your CD auto insert notification option before playing Atlantis II to keep the installer from starting whenever you insert CD
This can be done in the Control Panel, under the "System" icon.  Then, select the "Device Manager" tab, select CDROM, and click on the "Properties" button.  Look under the "Settings" tab in the next window and make sure the "Auto insert notification" box is cleared.  This will prevent Atlantis II's installer from starting automatically, but it will also disable auto-play on other CDs.  You may want to check this box again when you're done with Atlantis II.
