Atlantis Evolution Hints

How do I get across the water?

  • 1 of 18: If you try to swim across, the giant eel eats Curtis.  You'll have to get across the water without swimming.  (Thank goodness for automatic restores!)
  • 2 of 18: Notice the rope that stretches across the water?
  • 3 of 18: In order to reach this end of the rope, you will still have to cross a small patch of water.
  • 4 of 18: If you could only distract the giant eel for a brief time, you should be able to safely reach the ledge near the rope.
  • 5 of 18: Anything that splashes into the water would attract his attention.
  • 6 of 18: Look around this water-side location for anything that could be helpful to distract the eel.
  • 7 of 18: Look on the ground to find a pile of small rocks.
  • 8 of 18: Tossing a rock into the water will distract the eel just long enough to cross to the ledge.
  • 9 of 18: Make sure that you actually see the eel in the area where you tossed the rock before trying to cross, otherwise the eel will likely still be close enough to catch Curtis.
  • 10 of 18: Once you see the eel, immediately cross to the other ledge.
  • 11 of 18: This is a two-step process.  If you only take one step and stop, Curtis will be standing in the water, and the eel will catch Curtis.
  • 12 of 18: From the ledge, you can climb up the ladder to access the rope.
  • 13 of 18: There is something hanging from the rope over the water that could prove useful.  You'll need to bring it closer to see what it is.
  • 14 of 18: Notice that it is tied down with a rope.  Untie the rope (it is the lower of the two ropes) from the ring embedded into the rocks..
  • 15 of 18: Grab on to the handle.
  • 16 of 18: You'll need to tell Curtis when to let go.  If you don't, he'll smack into the wall.
  • 17 of 18: If you tell him to jump too soon, he will land in the water and be eel-food.
  • 18 of 18: Wait until the game displays the picture of the mouse on the right side of the screen.  Click as soon as you see it to land Curtis safely on the other side.
