How do I read the letters I pick up?
This is a matter of a slightly funky interface. After you pick up something readable, go into inventory, pick it up, and click it on the magnifying glass at the bottom of the inventory box. This will make your character copy it into his notebook, and the paper itself disappears from inventory. You can now click on the notebook, on the right side of the screen, to read what was just copied out. The notebook will automatically open to the last thing that was copied, so you might find it easier to read each thing as it's copied rather than waiting to read them all at once.
