Aura: Fate of the Ages Hints
What do I do with the gears on the floor?
of 13: The goal is to make the pattern on the gears rotate until one large design is created. Warning: Save the game before beginning the puzzle -- this puzzle does not reset when you back away from it.
of 13: Does the pattern on the gears look familiar? If not, look around the room a bit more.
of 13: From the door where you first entered the room, look on the wall to the left (you'll need to take a step or two away from the door first). Look for a white square area of the wall and get up close to it.
of 13: Make note of something distinguishing about each of the four corners of the image, as well as the center.
of 13: Use the distinguishing marks of each corner to help you set the gears on the floor to the correct position.
of 13: Clicking on the center gear turns the center gear and several gears around it.
of 13: Clicking on a gear in one of the corners will cause that gear to not turn with the others. It is not possible to stop more than one gear from turning at a time.
of 13: The puzzle begins with two of the outer gears already set correctly. Focus on one of the remaining outer gears at a time. First, line it up correctly, then turn off that gear, and you can bring it into sync with the other two. Do the same for the remaining gear.
of 13: The outer rings will be easy to line up, but the center ring won't be in the right position right away.
of 13: If only you could stop all the other rings, and turn only the center one...
of 13: ...actually you can -- just not all at once.
of 13: Stop the upper left ring for one move, stop the lower left ring for one move, stop the lower right ring for one move, then the upper right ring for one move.
of 13: This will change the position of the center ring, although it may not be enough. You will likely need to do the entire procedure again, until all the pieces are in the correct position.
