Aura: Fate of the Ages Hints

Outdoors: What do I do with the four pillars and four stands?

  • 1 of 18: To find the puzzle with the pillars, stand outside the house (back to the door) and pivot to the right.  Move along the path: the puzzle is at the end of the path.
  • 2 of 18: An important clue to solving this puzzle is apparent by looking carefully at the four pillars of this puzzle.  The best view is *not* in the close-up of each pillar.  Instead, stand in the very center of the puzzle area, and look from there.
  • 3 of 18: Pay particular attention to the area near the base of each pillar.  You should see a small diagram.
  • 4 of 18: The four diagrams are of four different planets, all of different sizes (plus one has a ring around it, like Saturn).
  • 5 of 18: Look in the journal for clues.  Pay special attention to page four.
  • 6 of 18: The clues you need to solve this puzzle are inside the house, in the room where you first enter the house.
  • 7 of 18: Once you know both sets of colors for each planet, it's time to figure out how to enter them into the four pillars.  (Remember to use the fourth page of your journal for clues.)
  • 8 of 18: Note that there are eight interactive spots in this area.  At the top of each pillar is a set of colored spheres (kind of like marbles), which can be turned into different positions.  Plus, for each pillar there is a corresponding, oddly-shaped stand opposite it, which can also be turned (you must be standing in the very center of the puzzle area to turn the odd stands).
  • 9 of 18: One set of colors from the planets needs to be entered into the spheres on the pillars, and one set needs to be entered into the corresponding oddly-shaped stands.
  • 10 of 18: The notes in the journal will help you determine which set of colors should be entered where.
  • 11 of 18: For each planet (around the globe in the house), there is a "starting" color, and a "glowing" color.  Enter each starting color by turning the spheres on top of the pillars until the color matches the starting color of the planet indicated on each pillar.
  • 12 of 18: Enter each glowing color by turn the stand closest to the pillar, until the side of the matching color is facing the matching pillar.
  • 13 of 18: For example, for the pillar with the diagram of the large planet (the pillar immediately to the right when you enter the puzzle area), you would turn the spheres until the blue sphere is closest to you (it should be facing the stand behind you).
  • 14 of 18: Then you would go to the center of the puzzle and turn the corresponding stand until the red side is facing the pillar (you won't be able to see the red side when it's set correctly, since it will be facing away from you).  Caution: the following hints contain the complete solution to the puzzle.
  • 15 of 18: Starting from the pillar just to the right of the entrance to the puzzle, and moving (counter-clockwise) to the left, the pillars and stands should be set as follows: Largest planet: blue sphere on pillar facing red side of stand.
  • 16 of 18: Ringed planet: green sphere on pillar facing blue side of stand.
  • 17 of 18: Middle-sized planet: red sphere on pillar facing yellow side of stand.
  • 18 of 18: Smallest planet: yellow sphere on pillar, facing green side of stand.  If all spheres and stands are set correctly, the center of the puzzle will open up and you will receive a small object.
