Footstep Traces Report
1 of 11: Look in the dead-end area past the shed for this bit of evidence.
2 of 11: Examine the ground near the walls.
3 of 11: You should spot a bunch of footprints on the ground in one spot.
4 of 11: Click the hand cursor on them to get a close-up of the two clearest ones.
5 of 11: Notice that you have two tools available to you -- the magnifying glass and the tape measure. (Check the bottom left corner of the screen for their icons.)
6 of 11: Start by clicking on the tape measure and using it to measure the footprints.
7 of 11: Then use the magnifying glass to see if you can find anything remarkable about either of the footprints.
8 of 11: Scan them both carefully, noting all the little circles that denote nails.
9 of 11: The right shoe is missing a nail along its left side.
10 of 11: Get the missing nail centered in the magnifying glass view, then click to get Holmes to comment on it and to update the report you got for measuring the footprints.
11 of 11: NOTE: You can do the examining and measuring steps in either order, and will end up with the exact same report either way.
