Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Hints

I got out of the cell, but Holmes refuses to go any farther!

  • 1 of 16: Notice what he says when you try to move down the corridor.
  • 2 of 16: Some nurse will be back soon, and you want to put off their realizing that you've escaped for as long as possible.
  • 3 of 16: Go back into the cell and see if you can figure out a way to make it look like you're there when you're not.
  • 4 of 16: You have your own sleeping mat -- maybe you could rig up a passable fake body on it so that a casual observer would conclude that there are two people in the cell.
  • 5 of 16: Start by finding something you can use for a fake head.
  • 6 of 16: You've got your Amos Colby disguise in inventory, but there's nothing there that would work for a head.
  • 7 of 16: Look on the floor of the cell next to the head of your bed.
  • 8 of 16: There's a chamber-pot-style jug there that you can click on.
  • 9 of 16: Do so to place your "head" on the bed.
  • 10 of 16: To make the head look more realistic, put the hat from your inventory on it. (If you try the hairpiece, Holmes will say that it won't be necessary.)
  • 11 of 16: Now for the body. What can you lay on the mattress to look like a body is there?
  • 12 of 16: You've got a topcoat in inventory, but it'll lay too flat by itself to look like a real body.
  • 13 of 16: Look at what's near the bed, next to the wall.
  • 14 of 16: There's a blanket roll there that you can click on.
  • 15 of 16: Doing so will place it on the bed in a good body-like position.
  • 16 of 16: Use the topcoat on the blanket roll to complete the illusion of a man sleeping on your mattress.
