Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle Hints
Metal Detector
of 25: You can find a disassembled metal detector in someone's abode.
of 25: Emma Harry, the local radio personality, bought one online recently, but could never get it put together properly.
of 25: If you click on the box it came in for a close-up, it'll say "no tools required," so maybe you can manage to get it together.
of 25: Zoom in on the bed and see what all parts you've got to work with.
of 25: There are six pieces, all but one of which can be clicked and dragged.
of 25: So you apparently need to drag all the other items over to the unmovable bar-like item and connect them one at a time.
of 25: You don't have to do them in an exact order, and the following hints tell of just one order that works.
of 25: Start with the smallest item, which is near the left end of the curving wire.
of 25: Drag it over to the left end of the bar and drop it. It'll automatically connect up to the bar.
of 25: The other small gadget, the one that's rounded, fits onto the right end of the bar.
of 25: Once it's in place, you can attach the box with the gauge to it.
of 25: Then drag the bent wire (actually a cord) over to the bar so it'll plug in to the gadget below the gauge box.
of 25: The final piece is the large round item that's on the pillow over to the right.
of 25: It goes on the little gadget that you connected to the left end of the bar, so drag it over there.
of 25: To get it to attach, drop it when its top is just overlapping the bar's left end. It's a tricky placement, so you may have to try several times.
of 25: That'll fully assemble it, but you still can't put it in inventory.
of 25: When you click on it now, it'll come up with a close-up of the gauge box.
of 25: Notice the large battery compartment just below the on/off switch.
of 25: Click on the compartment to open it up and find that it's empty. Batteries not included!
of 25: Before you can take the metal detector and use it, you'll need to find some Batteries.
of 25: Once you have them, return to the metal detector and get its close-up, then open the battery compartment and click on the batteries in inventory to place them.
of 25: Click to close the battery container and put the metal detector in inventory.
of 25: Now you've got a working metal detector that you can use anywhere by clicking on it in inventory and then clicking on or near the on/off switch. (To turn it off, click on its gauge display and then on the on/off switch again.)
