Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal Hints
I met a man named Marlowe in the bar who wants my help.
of 10: Yep, this guy starts up a fairly long, but not terribly difficult quest. (There doesn't even have to be combat involved.)
of 10: If you accept his help, go meet with him in his house. You have to go through a few houses and up a few ladders to get to him.
of 10: Once you reach his house, talk to him, and learn about the lich who stole his daughter's soul.
of 10: Go to the caves of the dead and talk to the guard, who will let you pass.
of 10: Go inside and talk to the lich Vogoethe. He'll give you the full story about Marlowe. (Hey, he doesn't want to fight you ... nice to have a lich scared of you.)
of 10: He's actually telling the truth, although you can just kill him, but Marlowe's daughter will be killed.
of 10: If you want to, you can go get Marlowe and bring him here.
of 10: Once he's there you have yet another decision. The lich will give you the girl's soul, and you can now either let him kill Marlowe, or kill him.
of 10: Killing him and saving Marlowe will gain you +1 rep.
of 10: If you let Marlowe die, you can go restore his daughter and give her money for +1 rep.
