The Second Trial (The Gauntlet)

  • 1 of 19: This trial, which you should do second (or first, if you really want), is started by going to the south.
  • 2 of 19: You will encounter a Helmite Ghost, who will tell you that you must face three tests of your courage.
  • 3 of 19: The first one, through the far left door, is pretty easy...
  • 4 of 19: It's a massive horde of poorly armed orcs.
  • 5 of 19: The fighters are all easy, and the mages are slightly annoying.
  • 6 of 19: All you really have to do is avoid dying for about 5 minutes, and you'll have completed the test.
  • 7 of 19: The second test is much tougher. Through the middle door, you'll encounter a nasty green dragon. This guy means business.
  • 8 of 19: He's just all-around nasty, breathing Cloudkill and knocking you unconscious every few seconds.
  • 9 of 19: Unload on him when you can, using Lower Resistance before you try any spells on him, and using the fighter abilities as well.
  • 10 of 19: Once he's dead, be sure to take the skull off his body.
  • 11 of 19: The third test is very different. You have to answer riddles for a little imp.
  • 12 of 19: The first riddle may seem complicated, but it's fairly easy if you know that the subject of the riddle is a female.
  • 13 of 19: The final answer to the riddle is 7. Same amount of brothers as sisters, three, but the 3 brothers, with only 2 brothers each, have twice as many sisters as brothers, 4.
  • 14 of 19: The second part is trickier -- you have to figure out the correct order to take the numbers of coins in.
  • 15 of 19: To beat the imp, select coins in this order:
  • 16 of 19: 2
  • 17 of 19: 3
  • 18 of 19: 1
  • 19 of 19: You've beaten the imp and finished the trials. You'll get the key from the Helmite Ghost.
