1 of 3: You destroyed another cage a few seconds ago.
2 of 3: Again hold down the left mouse button and release it at soon as its tip starts to glow.
3 of 3: You have to start holding the left mouse button as soon as the cage appears, or you'll get problems collecting enough energy before the enemy hits you with its energy beam.
