Beyond Good & Evil Hints
About this Hint File
The hint file is split up into the most important sections in the main story. Although you are relatively free to roam around, the main story is very linear, so you shouldn't have problems recognizing the chapter that fits your current progress. Also, other than a few dungeon raids, there are no side quests... er, besides a few warehouses and caves where you can collect pearls, there are no side paths from the main story. These adventures will be described in a separate section accessible from the main level of the hint file, and are easy recognized by the name of the caves displayed in the game when entering them.
Don't expect this hint file to be a complete guide to all goodies. Although I try to list the most important items, I can't guarantee I found all. And for example, after Jade's health is measured by four or more hearts, Starkos lose importance compared to K-Bups, so I won't list every Starkos you can find. Also, you can play the whole game using only boost capsules in races or Looter's Caves (in the whole game I only needed two at race 4). But most important, I won't give you cheat codes (I even don't know whether cheat codes exist), because playing wisely, the game is easy enough to beat it without cheats. Also I can't give you codes to doors and cabinets as these codes are randomly generated at the beginning of a game. But I can give you hints how to acquire those door codes.
For those who are power-playing this game, I added in each section (where it makes sense) a list of goodies and a list of animals. Nevertheless you should only take a look at that list after you played the level once successfully, as in the hints for these lists I'm referring to occurrences in the story. As you chose UHS for not being opposed to spoilers, it would be nonsensical to take that risk by reading ahead.
Also, note that I played the PC version of the game. The controls will be different on different platforms -- there is, of course, no mouse button on the Xbox. Please read the manual that came with your game for controls on other versions.
Last: As I'm German, English is not my native language, so sometimes my choice of words might sound unusual to you. Although this can happen by accident, an unusual wording might also hide a hint. I try to avoid hints that only make sense when you translate it to German or can only be understood in a certain cultural context, but I can't promise this will not happen, so don't make an elephant out of a mosquito if you find a German proverb ;o)
