How can I get past the security droid past the guard room?

  • 1 of 12: This droid is really pretty stupid.
  • 2 of 12: Its vision seems more or less limited to forward movement.
  • 3 of 12: You can more or less sidestep your way past it (use the 1 and 3 keys for movement).  Turning and walking forward to get around the droid will not work nearly as well, if at all.
  • 4 of 12: You will, of course, have to turn to change your direction as you go around the droid, but keep sidestepping.
  • 5 of 12: Once you've solved a couple of other puzzles, you'll have a chance to destroy the robot for good.
  • 6 of 12: You need to get through the tunnel and find a blaster in cell 2.  The following hints may help you.
  • 7 of 12: I would not recommend trying to attack the robot directly.  It's too strong to take head on.
  • 8 of 12: But you can probably kill it from inside the elevator.  See the following hint for more information on getting into the elevator.
  • 9 of 12: You'll find this out if you try using the elevator -- weapon discharges in the elevator are very dangerous.
  • 10 of 12: Because the elevator walls are reflective.
  • 11 of 12: You can shoot the robot from inside the elevator and under cover.
  • 12 of 12: Stand in one of the corners of the elevator facing the door (so the robot can't hit you directly), and then fire at the walls with your blaster.  Aim until your shots ricochet off the wall to hit the robot.
