Freezer Area Combat Tips
of 18: Before you go in there, use the Gene Bank machine that's in the room where you had to drop your weapons to make sure you have the most useful plasmids equipped.
of 18: The two most useful are Winter Blast and Telekinesis. If you bought some new plasmid slots earlier, add Enrage and then Incinerate. (If you didn't get Winter Blast, use Electro Bolt instead.)
of 18: If you made a weapon stockpile in the outer fishery area earlier, go pick up those weapons now.
of 18: There are several useful things in the freezer area, including a vending machine and a Gene Bank machine, but the two most useful things are the security camera and the gun turret.
of 18: The security camera is halfway down the right-side (east) wall, between two large "Ice Princess" doors.
of 18: The first thing to do after saving your game is to run straight for that camera and hack it.
of 18: Then go west and around to the other side of the wall to find a health station that you should hack.
of 18: The lights will have gone out by this point, so use the game's map to help you navigate.
of 18: From the health station, run for the raised alcove that's along the north side of the area.
of 18: When you get there, you'll be able to see the alcove and the large crate that's on the floor in front of it.
of 18: Use the crate to jump up into the alcove, then crouch down and hide in the alcove's SE corner. Notice that there are some protective sheets of metal right next to you.
of 18: When the screen that's covering the gun turret near the opposite corner of the alcove rises, quickly Winter-Blast the turret and hack it, then return to your safe corner.
of 18: Stay in the corner until the turret is destroyed, then move a bit so that you can see if anyone is on the lower floor nearby.
of 18: If you see Peach, quickly get out Telekinesis and use it to toss his explosives right back at him. If you see a splicer, use Enrage on him to get him to attack Peach and other splicers.
of 18: NOTE: It's not impossible to get hurt in your safe corner, just very unlikely. If you keep getting hurt there, you may want to restore a save from before the combat started and try again.
of 18: When Peach dies, you'll get a radio message from Atlas about the submarine bay. However, there may be splicers still alive out there, so stay in your safe spot and see if you can use Enrage or Incinerate or whatever on them.
of 18: Or drop down to the lower floor, turn left, and go down some nearby stairs to reach the pneumo tube with all your weapons in it. With those, you can easily finish off any remaining hostiles.
of 18: NOTE: If you die during this combat and are revived in a Vita-Chamber, you can return to the freezer area to find that its entry door is now permanently open. That means you can lead Peach and the splicers out into other parts of the fishery to gain more maneuvering room. (However, you really should do okay without having to die even once.)
