When and where do big sisters attack?
1 of 6: There are a few places in the game where big sisters attack as a scripted event, but most of them only attack after you've rescued or harvested little sisters.
2 of 6: It's important to note that there can be at most one big sister attack per game region.
3 of 6: Whether or not the attack will happen after any given rescue or harvest depends mainly on how many rescues/harvests you've done since the last big sister attack, and also on how long it's been since your last rescue/harvest(s). It also seems to vary a bit based on your difficulty level.
4 of 6: Instead of trying to figure it out, remember to always quicksave right before delivering your little sister to a wall vent.
5 of 6: If a big sister attacks when you rescue/harvest your little sister at a wall vent, quickrestore and decide how best to handle her. Choose a wall vent that's near hacked security devices (rocket turrets are ideal), stockpile explosives next to your chosen wall vent, load heavy rivets into your rivet gun, etc.
6 of 6: TIP: If you use a wall vent that a big daddy is close to, maneuver the big sister into accidentally damaging the big daddy and turning him hostile to her. Stay out of the way and watch as she kills the big daddy and gets heavily damaged in the process, then finish her off. If the big daddy had a little sister with him, you can pick her up right after the battle is over.
