Exactly how much ADAM can I get from harvesting vs. rescuing?
1 of 9: There are 12 little sisters in the game, so rescuing them all would give 80 X 12 = 960 ADAM, and harvesting them all would give 160 X 12 = 1920 ADAM.
2 of 9: However, it's not that simple. There are the rewards for rescues to consider, as well as the amount gotten from the ADAM gathers, which will be more after you rescue four little sisters and get the Proud Parent tonic.
3 of 9: NOTE: The ADAM you get from other sources, such as big sisters and sea slugs, won't vary no matter what you do with the little sisters. To be exact, you can get a total of 280 ADAM from big sisters, 50 ADAM from sea slugs, and 220 ADAM from other sources which I won't elaborate on here to avoid plot spoilers.
4 of 9: The total for harvesting all 12 little sisters after doing two ADAM gathers with each one is: (160 X 12) + (40 X 2 X 12) = 2880 ADAM.
5 of 9: The total for rescuing all little sisters, assuming you pick up all three rewards and start using the Proud Parent tonic as soon as you get it, is: (80 X 12) + (40 X 2 X 4) + (60 X 2 X 8) + (80 + 120 + 250) = 2690.
6 of 9: If you rescue the first four little sisters to get the Proud Parent tonic, then use it and harvest the other eight, your total will be: (80 X 4) + (40 X 2 X 4) + (160 X 8) + (60 X 2 X 8) + 80 = 2960.
7 of 9: If you add in the 550 ADAM that you can get from other sources, that brings the harvesting grand total to 3430, the rescuing grand total to 3240, and the mixed-method grand total to 3510.
8 of 9: So it turns out that the way to get the most ADAM is to rescue the first four little sisters and harvest the rest. However, you'll have to make do with much less ADAM at first than with the all-harvest way, and you won't end up with that much more ADAM in the end (just 80 more).
9 of 9: You could harvest the first little sister or two and then rescue the next four, but you'd lose 40 ADAM from your end total for every harvest you did before getting the Proud Parent tonic. If you harvested two little sisters before getting it, you'd end up with the same amount of ADAM as if you'd harvested them all. So overall, I'd say it's best to harvest them all.
