Bioshock 2 Hints
PC Cheat Codes
Run Microsoft Notepad, then go to its File menu and choose Open. Click on your game's install drive under the word "Computer" in the navigation bar that's along the left side of the window, then double-click on the "Users" folder to enter it. Double-click on the folder with your user name on it, then see if it has a folder called AppData listed. If so, double-click on it. If not, type "appdata" (w/o quotes) in the "File name:" box that's near the bottom of the window and press ENTER. Once you're in that folder, double-click on the Roaming folder, and then on the Bioshock2 folder.
You're now finally in the right folder, but you still probably can't see the User.ini file. To remedy that, set the box to the right of the "File name:" box to "All Files." You can then click on User.ini to load it. Or instead of that, you could type "user.ini" (w/o quotes) in the "File name:" box and press ENTER.
Search the file for the first occurrence of the key name that you want to use to set up a cheat. For instance, search for "f10" (w/o quotes) to find the first "f10=" line. There are many other such lines farther down, but you shouldn't bother with them. Set the keys you want to use equal to cheat codes from the list below so you can use those keys while playing to turn the code's effect on. For example, if you want F10 to toggle invincibility, change the first "f10=" line in the file to "f10=god".
* god -- toggle invincibility
* ghost -- turn no-clipping mode on
* fly -- turn flying mode on
* walk -- cancel effects of ghost and fly codes
* teleport -- teleport yourself around (aim the targeting reticle and press the key)
* igbigbucks -- fills your wallet to its current limit
* givehealth -- refills your health line
* givebioammo -- refills your EVE line
* killpawns -- all nearby entities vanish, including little sisters and plot-essential characters (that can stall the game, so it's best to never use this code)
* suicide -- kills you and sends you to the nearest Vita-Chamber
* slomo -- extreme slow motion that can't be canceled (** DO NOT USE **)
NOTE: Ongoing cheat effects like invincibility and flying mode are canceled by cut-scenes and by moving from one game region to another.
