Drill Dash Tips
of 6: The new drill dash ability that you'll get for researching this brute splicer will be very useful for the rest of the game, not just in clearing the hotel's rubble.
of 6: Drill-dashing into thuggish and leadhead splicers will usually kill them instantly, and it'll do big damage to houdini and spider splicers. It'll also probably knock them down for a few seconds, during which you can drill them good (or melee-whack them to save on drill fuel).
of 6: Due to this, you may want to use drill dashes on most of the rest of the splicers in the game (except brute splicers). Whenever you encounter a crowd of splicers, or splicers in positions that aren't readily drill-dashable, retreat and hide around a corner so they'll come after you.
of 6: Drill dashes will consume drill fuel, even if you don't drill your victims after they're knocked down, so you'll need to frequently buy more drill ammo from vending machines. What you find lying around loose and in dead splicers' inventories won't be enough if you use drill dashing a lot.
of 6: Drill dashes can also help you zoom past unhacked security devices, which may help you get into a good position to hack them. However, hack darts are usually preferred in cases where you can't sneak up on a security device.
of 6: You can also use drill dashes to gain some distance during tough combats, such as when you're fighting big daddies or big sisters. Just remember that you can only drill-dash in a straight line.
