Does it matter which order I visit the locations in?
1 of 3: Well, since you're always free to jump between them, it doesn't really matter too much. In the worst case, you'll have to repeat a few actions when you return to a time (since you always come in at the start of a location).
2 of 3: Many of the puzzles will require items from other times, but I hesitate to say what those items are or in what order to visit times, because I'd end up spoiling puzzles that you haven't seen.
3 of 3: But it's probably safe to say that the Farnstein Lab does not require items from other times, so you might want to visit it first. And from there, if you ever get stuck on a puzzle, you may want to explore other times, and see what you can do there.
